From Research to Practise

The foundations of the Teachers Network are based on the outputs of the “Teachers Research” which was collaboratively conducted by ERG and ATÖLYE with the financial support of Vehbi Koç Foundation. The research showed that teachers needed to be an active and creative participant in their own personal and professional development journeys. In order to fulfill this need and strengthen teachers as individuals, the idea of ​​establishing a teaching community where teachers have a say in its design and implementation and where different people and institutions who concern quality education participate was emerged.

Based on the findings of Teachers Research, a change theory was developed that would support teachers to strengthen themselves. Being built upon this change theory, Teachers Network aims to accompany teachers in their professional journeys and problem solving processes by involving other  stakeholders, foundations, NGOs, people and institutions from different disciplines that concern quality education. It provides sources and peer solidarity experience to teachers in order to strengthen individuals whose occupations are teaching. Teachers Network has an important role in spreading the solutions and success stories of teachers.

Teachers Network, conducted by ERG and ATÖLYE, was realized in 2016 with the support of AÇEV (Mother Child Education Foundation), Aydın Doğan Foundation, Mehmet Zorlu Foundation, Sabancı Foundation and Vehbi Koç Foundation. The first phase of the Teachers Network, pilot stage, will end in December 2017. During this process, its own model will be developed with contributions, feedbacks and suggestions of its own teachers.
