Network Development Coordinator (Teachers Network)

After graduating from Çukurova University’s ELT Department; Sonel started his teaching career at Hasköy Elementary School in Istanbul in 2001. In the same year in November he also started to work for Beyoğlu Anatolian High School. He attended
“Becoming a Thinking School for Student Development” project coordinated by Education Reform Initiative.

He carried out an EU Project about teaching languages using traditional children’s games between 2010 – 2012 at Hasköy Elementary School. In this project, multilingual educational materials were produced to teach languages in 7 different countries, and Children’s Olympics were held in the partner countries at the same time.

He attended Glottodrama education in Italy and received the certificate of Glottodrama. This method, which aims to teach a foreign language using drama, is used by him to teach English to a Glottodrama group of students aged 11.

After 13 years of experience in Hasköy, he moved to İsmail Tarman Secondary School as an English teacher. He carried out “Young Poets” project which aims to develop writing skills and creativity of students. He spent his last year at Ismail Tarman Secondary School as vice principal and as of August 2018 he joined ERI family.

Sonel loves seeing new places, meeting new people, playing drums, listening to music and watching movies.
