In 2015, Didem graduated from the Department of Psychology at Rutgers University concentrating on child and adolescent development. She also voluntarily mentored high school students from disadvantaged families. She wrote her undergraduate thesis on supporting social and emotional development of young people at risk in schools. In 2016, she completed her master’s degree in Educational Sciences at Harvard University. At the same time, she worked with high school students at risk as Coordinator of Youth Programs in Cambridge. She joined the Education Reform Initiative in 2016 as a Research Assistant.
While oil painting is one of Didem’s favorite hobbies, her craziest experience has been to jump into the ocean in February. Her biggest dreams are to learn Kurdish enough to talk with children easily and settle down in a village.
